I dislike the notion of aliens. I find it rather sickening that we've all got too bored of each other so have to fantasise about other worldly beings.

Why do you think people wear what they perceive as "cool", whatever that means? Surely people don't care what other people think of them, especially if those other people are shallow enough to judge them on their clothes.
The fashion industry is a complete con, and it only survives by continuously changing what is "in fashion" to swindle people to buy more clothes they don't need.
