I'm afraid to say, Rumpole, that as far as British comedy is concerned, Monty Python, Tony Hancock, Peter Cook, Rowan Atkinson, Frankie Howerd, Terry-Thomas and Rik Mayall were SOOOO far ahead of Benny Hill it is embarrassing.
