LIVE REVIEW: GARY NUMAN & OMD at WEMBLEY ARENA

From this line-up, I expected something extra special.

Gary's performance on the night was hard-edged and full of rhythm. And, with his band, he injected plenty of energy into the event - rare nowadays.

The set comprised songs from all 15 years of his vastly underrated synth-rock career.

OMD may have written some good tunes in their day but their live show just didn't work.

McClusky sang his heart out but the music - always slick and professional - lacked life and the signs of pre-programming stuck out a mile.

Only "Enola Gay" and "Stand Above Me" had any real impact. I'll stick to the records in the future.

Dear Mega-zine,

Just before Christmas I was reading Mega-zine and I couldn't work out why people were making such an issue about Madonna's last No 1 being in 1990.

Every single she's released since (and before) has made the Top 10.

What other artist can claim such a prolific chart run?

Maddie's lover (I wish!), Essex

Come on trainspotters - bet you know!

Dear Zine of Zines,

I've finally figured out why people dislike Guns N' Roses.

It must be because they pack stadiums wherever they go OR they release great albums OR they have the greatest living guitarist in their line-up.

Jealousy can be the only cause of this hatred. Why must rockers fight between themselves when there are plenty of useless bands like TT to run down?

"G N'R fan", Brum

Sorry - couldn't read your pseudonym
