DEAR MEGA-ZINE

I'm writing to reply to Karen, the Depeche Mode fan who wrote in last week.

I'm 16 and often come across the kind of reaction she mentioned. Most of my friends disregard DM, probably because they aren't "fashionable".

However, I feel that if people actually listened to their songs, they wouldn't disregard them so quickly. I'm proud of my tastes - don't feel isolated. There ARE others like you out there!

Persecuted DM fans - it's an outrage!

ALBUM REVIEW: CONSTRUCTION FOR THE MODERN IDIOT by THE WONDERSTUFF

This is without doubt the Stuffie's finest album. Opening with Change Every Light Bulb and Wish Them All Dead, you can tell that their 18-month absence from the music scene was put to the best possible use.

Outstanding tracks are Size of A Cow, Cabin Fever, Full of Life, Swell and my favourite Hush.

Buy Construction and make sure it stays at #1!

PURE, UNADULTERATED, INTELLIGENT FUN

REPLY TO PSYCHEDELICATE, EUROPE

So punk was based around one beautiful philosophy was it? I've never heard such drivel in all my life. You were what, three or four years old when punk supposedly happened

So who are you to analyse something so spontaneous and one-off 17 years after the media created the myth? No one!

Stop spouting such romantic, detached rubbish which has no relevance to people's lives.

Johnny Rotten, Doing It For The Kids

I don't want a holiday in the sun! Er...

ALBUM REVIEW: STICKY FINGERS by THE ROLLING STONES

The Stones' 1972 album was and is with no doubt their finest moment. It eclipses anything done previously or thereafter by Mick Jagger et al.

It's an eclectic mixture of styles from the country & western Dead Flowers to the darkly beautiful, folksy Sister Morphine.

No one's life is complete without hearing this album.

Lolita, Temple of Love

An oldie from whence classics have come
