TV REVIEW - KELLY, Ch4

Lassie? Not quite. Different dog, same idea. Channel 4 has given us the pleasure of Kelly every weekday morning.

It's an extremely corny programme about an Alsatian dog coming to the rescue of people in trouble. The humans seem able to understand every "wuff".

An old man takes Kelly to find his granddaughter. When he does a policeman says: "If I had a dog like Kelly."

I had no idea they were repeats but, please, keep on repeating them.

Kelly the wonderdog is guaranteed to keep you laughing from start to end. Even during the day you recall scenes in your head.

A seemingly serious programme gone wrong.

Message to Australian writers: Keep up the bad work. We love it.

ALBUM REVIEW - POCKET FULL OF KRYPTONITE BY SPIN DOCTORS

The 13 tracks are all enjoyable, fast moving, lively pieces of rock n' roll with the exception of "Forty or Fifty."

Some of the numbers you'll come across have really catchy tunes.

This is particularly true with "Jimmy Olsen's Blues", "What Time is it?" and "Off My Line" in which guitarist Eric Schenkman makes his singing debut.

"How Could You Want Him?" is a soft, soothing ballad which is one of the highlights of this particular album.

"Refrigerator Car" and "Two Princes" also sound brill with their excellent drum beats.

Buy it now or stick a plastic bag over your head.
