GIG REVIEW - INXS - ASTON VILLA LEISURE CENTRE JULY 16

Finally the time came when Tim, Kirk, Jon, Andrew and Gary made their way on stage in a packed, hot and sweaty hall.

The crowd went wild and 30 seconds later Michael came running on stage. Wow! Amazing!

Everyone sang along with the powerful Communication and other songs included Heaven Sent, Need You Tonight, Mystify and What You Need.

INXS were really having a good time - with Michael talking to the band and the crowd. We all had a chance to sing during Kick and What You Need.

An hour and a half of sheer brilliance plus an encore, ended with Don't Change.

The universe's most brilliant band showed everyone they can perform amazingly in smaller pubs and clubs.

FILM REVIEW - JURASSIC PARK

With a pedigree and reputation as monstrous as Jurassic Park's, it is perhaps slightly redundant to declare the film good or bad.

You almost wish the blockbuster to be another Howard The Duck and plummet spectacularly.

But, from its exqusite beginning to the peculiar anti-climax, there is no denying Jurassic Park is a mammoth crowd-pleaser.

Unsurprisingly, the dinosaur effects are excellent, if a little short on imagination. Where are the sea or air-based creatures?

Jurassic Park at least has something to say on DNA cloning to go with its scarier convincing set-pieces.

A toothy, razor-sharp grin at the heart of this dinosaur epic undermines all the media would have us believe...

Sorry, Matthew, we had to eat the rest!

AN ELEGY FOR LOST SOULS

Rave: How anyone can listen to the berserk offspring of a crazed microwave and hail it as "art" is beyond me!

Where is the skill, compared to playing a guitar? Where are the lyrics?

Methinks the computer virus hath spread beyond the electronic brain.

Sad ravers ye hath been tricked! Recant the rave and step into the light! Rave no more; Headbang hereafter.
