ALBUM REVIEW - SOUL DANCING by TAYLOR DAYNE

This is the distinctively-voiced New Yorker's third album for the Arista label and it's the best and most consistent of them all.

There's certainly plenty of good, original material here, even if a cover of Barry White's Can't Get Enough of You has been the album's big single hit.

That said, Taylor makes it sound better than Barry White ever did.

Taylor has written more material than ever for this album and anyone who takes music seriously should take notice of the many excellent numbers.

The opening I'll Wait is one of the very best tracks on the album and it really sets the trend for a high-quality session of music.

Another lively track is the Soul Dancing title song.

Someone Like You continues the trend of powerful vocal, yet soulful roots. There's even a duet with Keith Washington, but she's best on her own.

This album is a must for any lover of top-quality music and there's certainly no other female vocalist who can match the strength of Taylor's voice.

This is one of THE albums of 1993.

  5. It sells so well.
  6. People who listen to rave are brainless morons.
  7. The music is drug orientated.
  8. Each song is tediously repetitive and predictable.
  9. It requires no musical talent (see 3). DESPERATION TACTICS HERE! - Ed
