ALBUM REVIEW - JOEY LAWRENCE by JOEY LAWRENCE

There are so many actors/actresses turned pop stars that it's hard for them to be taken seriously. Well, now it's the turn of 17-year-old American TV star, Joey Lawrence, to prove himself to the world.

So what makes him special? I think it's his incredible voice (it just touches your heart) and his songwriting. Just to show how talented he is - Joey co-wrote nine of the 12 songs on his album and also co-produced a few too.

It's amazing to think that the brilliant Read My Eyes was actually written by Joey when he was 11. Anyone who can write a song at that age is definitely talented in my eyes.

Joey looks set to become a big star here, just like he is in the States. This album should prove that he is very gifted and isn't in it for the money.

Let's hope his next single, I Can't Help Myself, is a big success. I'm sure he's set for even bigger things.

ALBUM REVIEW - QUEEN by QUEEN

Not a new album - in fact it's 20 years old - but it's still as fresh as when it was first made.

When it was first released it got slated by the press - I'm writing to put the record straight.

The album starts off with the highly catchy Keep Yourself Alive and Doing All Right - the latter having one of the best guitar riffs ever.

The album has more crossovers than a Now That's What I Call Music CD. There is the pure metal simplicity of Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll to the overblown production of Great King Rat.

Then there is the pop of The Night Comes Down and Jesus. The highlight, of course, is Freddie Mercury's lyrics.

With hard rock, pop and amazing tunes - what more could you want from an album?
