I can't share your woes about not being allowed to make finger mouse puppets (I was forced to) but I have experience of some strange laws my mother has made:
- not being allowed to get my ears pierced until I was 12 ('cause it might have made men on the street fancy me),
- not being allowed to watch Home and Away (too immoral)
- not being allowed to see Pulp in case nasty things happen to me (actually I talked her into that one).

Wu-tang Clam, I must disagree. The best (and most underrated) film ever has to be that old classic, "The Blob". Where else would you see people screaming at something that resembles a "blob" (ha ha) of jam?
