TV REVIEW - DAS BOOT

This six-part series in German with English subtitles is a realistic, informative account of a typical U-Boat crew in WW2.

Jurgen Prochnow (Judge Dredd) is brilliant as the sub captain, and the feeling of claustrophobia is easily carried from the screen to the viewer.

A detailed and tense - but never glorifying - anti-war movie.

CD REVIEW: BLUR v BLACK GRAPE

While both albums sounded OK at first, they both grew on me a lot.

The best tracks on BG are Tramazi Party and A Big Day In The North, while Globe Alone is the best song on the Great Escape (one of their best ever).
