TO THE UN-ARMED ANORAK LOVER

The only thing wrong with geeks, train-spotters and the likes is they don't suffer from the narcissistic personality disorder that's affecting the rest of the country.

Most geeks I know seem nice, unassuming people, unlike the vain, image-conscious gits that are always slagging them.

NATURE WILL GET ITS REVENGE

We recently read an article in a local paper about a chef from Australia who specialises in crocodile cuisine.

The chef had been swimming in a gorge when he was suddenly attacked by a crocodile. The chef escaped but was severely shocked.

If that's not revenge, we don't know what is.

DEAR 'ZINE

I chanced upon a lonely place, long ago. I was weary and confused. Found solace there.

Short time ago, I tried to find that place again. Where the clearing in the trees should have been.

Cars rumbled past on the new road. Farewell, my lonely place.

DEAR 'ZINE

Respect to The Regulator for talking true sense: there are many sad people around like Black, Le Dark, Ricky etc.

I reckon we should get back to some good old fashioned arguments, so I'll start one off.

I reckon most indie kids have snobbish and blinkered views about music - if it ain't guitars and whining, they don't listen to it.

Your comments please.

I'VE BEEN CHUCKED!... 5 GOOD REASONS WHY

  1. His absence made my heart go wander.
  2. But I was faithful to him other times.
  3. It took his mother 23 years to make a man of him - and 2 months for me to make a fool of him.
  4. We were inseparable - when we rowed it took six people to separate us.
  5. I read 'Zine, he doesn't. Nuff said.

GIG REVIEW - RADIOHEAD, OXFORD APPOLLO

The single most visceral experience of my life. Songs to die for and more pathos than you can shake a dog's tail at.

Standing centrestage, somewhere between Ian Curtis and a caged animal, is Thom Yorke. When he sings it is a brutal, devastating yet beautiful roar.

Proof indeed that there is great eloquence in screaming.
