CONCERT REVIEW - SWERVEDRIVER - Windsor

I turned up at the Old Trout, Windsor, having only heard a few tracks by this four-piece band, not expecting much.

But I was really impressed and have vowed to buy the second album when it is released in September.

The band has picked itself up after a recent split and went down well - I'm converted!

ALBUM REVIEW - GOLD AGAINST THE SOUL - MANIC STREET PREACHERS

It doesn't take much of a genius to work out why the music industry likes this band so much.

James Dean Bradfield's over-the-top vocals and Sean Moore's drums stand out a mile.

Listen to the brilliant From Despair to Where; La Tristesse Durera.

One of the best Rock albums this year. BUY IT!

A LITTLE BIT OF THIS...

Take That and East 17 have come in for a bit of stick in our mail bag so we are giving them a bit of a rest.

One nameless Mega-fan wants to know what's happened to Heavy Metal. Has it sunk?

Plus - same Mega-fan wants some help with the meaning of Aerosmith's Eat The Rich lyrics. Any volunteers?

And hey gang... who are these people?!

EIGHT THINGS PARENTS SAY ABOUT MUSIC...

  1. "Is this one an oldie?"
  2. "what on earth is he/she wearing?"
  3. "They sound like..."
  4. "Turn that rubbish down!"
  5. "They can't sing/play!"
  6. "You can't exactly dance to it, can you?"
  7. "You call that music?"
  8. "You won't hear the postman whistling that!"

Nice one! But how about a proper address?

Little Miss Kingmaker from Kings Lynn?
