LIVE REVIEW - IRON MAIDEN GLASGOW SECC

When Maiden opened with the snare drum barrage of Be Quick Or Be Dead, the SECC went wild.

The crowd was treated to a dazzling light show and a number of old faves like Prowler, The Number Of The Beast and Heaven Can Wait.

What this impressive display failed to do was hide the fact that while Maiden are one of the best live acts around, they are running out of ideas.

Perhaps the time has come for these wrathchilds of rock to call it a day while they are still on top.

After all they are already in danger of turning into the sort of band that Black Sabbath have tragically become in recent years.

Maiden are a band with no direction and no ideas, living on the memories of past glories.
