THE LEMONHEADS - Sheffield Leadmill

Thursday night at the Leadmill was the first Sound City 93 show to sell out - thanks to the Lemonheads.

I had given up hope of getting in until I met Evan Dando at the soundcheck and he invited us to the gig.

They entertained us with a fine set, including Confetti, Ride With Me and It's A Shame About Ray.

The audience enjoyed themselves, although many of the girls preferred to gawp at Evan.

Dear Generator,

This is what I would put in my time capsule.

  • newspaper
  • computer game
  • picture of game's console
  • picture of a house and car
  • small TV and video
  • picture of the clothes we wear
  • a music record, CD and cassette
  • some of the food we eat, wrapped up so it won't go bad!

IRON MAIDEN A Real Live One

From the opening bars of Be Quick Or Be Dead you can tell why Maiden are so successful... well just about.

Maiden's problem recently has been that while the albums have retained their power, they have been forgettable, tedious, and quite bluntly, boring.

The album is saved by The Clairvoyant, Heaven Can Wait and Tailgunner. But while they're a great band, you can't help wondering what the fuss was about in the first place.
